Demystifying Christian Nationalism in North Central Washington
A Public Forum to Educate Voters on Christian Nationalism and Its Influence in Elections
Wenatchee, WA — Pastor Aaron Musser of Faith Lutheran Church, Leavenworth will be keynoting a public forum examining Christian Nationalism in North Central Washington — its worldview, its social and dogmatic objectives and its impact on civic life. Hosted by NCW Channel Z, First United Methodist Church Wenatchee, and Confluence Indivisible, the event aims to give Chelan County residents clear, research‑based information about a movement that critics say is working to place ideologically aligned candidates into office as part of the 2026 elections.
The forum, Demystifying Christian Nationalism, will take place July 6th from 6:00–8:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church. This event is a follow-up to a standing room only event previously held upper valley.
Pastor Musser, drawing on extensive theological and historical research, will explain how Christian Nationalism differs from mainstream Christianity and why the majority of Christian theologians and faith leaders reject its interpretation of scripture. His keynote will help attendees understand what Christian Nationalism teaches, how it spreads, and why it matters for everyday civic life.
Organizers emphasize that the forum is not an attack on anyone’s faith. Instead, it is an opportunity to understand a political movement that is increasingly influencing elections, public policy and decision‑making. The program will also explore how Christian Nationalism challenges core civic values such as separation of church and state, fair representation, freedom of religion, checks and balances, and individual freedoms. When citizens are informed, they are better equipped to make thoughtful decisions that keep their communities welcoming and free for everyone.
"What is happening in Chelan and Douglas Counties is not about faith — it is about some groups trying to consolidate power. Their methodology is to seat people in government and then to use the machinery of government to force religious doctrine on all citizens, regardless of their own beliefs. It is a betrayal of everything our founders intended. We are not here to tell people how to vote. We are here to make sure they know who is asking for their vote, where the money is coming from, and what agenda comes with it.” -M. Martin/ ncw Channel Z
